You can put this solution on YOUR website!

When parallel lines get crossed by another line (which is called a Transversal), you can see that many angles are the same, as :
-Corresponding Angles are equal.
-Alternate Interior Angles are equal.
-Alternate Exterior Angles are equal.

given:
m<16+=6x%2B4
m<1+=+8x-18
=> since l || m, m<16 = m<1, we have
6x%2B4+=+8x-18 ......solve for x
18%2B4+=+8x-6x
22+=+2x
x=11
so, m<1+=+8x-18=>m<1+=+8%2A11-18=>m<1+=+88-18=>m<1+=+70

This leads to the questions
∡7 = 8x – 18
∡16 = ∡7 = 8x – 18 (alternate interior angles, or Z angles)
We then get: 6x + 4 = 8x – 18
6x – 8x = - 18 - 4
– 2x = - 22
matrix%281%2C5%2C+x%2C+%22=%22%2C+%28-+22%29%2F%28-+2%29%2C+or%2C+11%29
∡1 = 8x – 18 = 8(11) – 18 = 88 – 18 = 700

.
Read the lesson
    - Parallel lines
in this site.

You will learn A LOT from this lesson about the angles that a transverse line makes with parallel lines,

and it will help you to solve your problems.
