Question 1088575: On a photograph of a triangular piece of land, the lengths of the three sides are 3 centimeters, 5 cm, and 9 cm, respectively. The shortest side of the actual piece of land is 150 meters long. Find the lengths of the other two sides (both the length of the longest side and the middle-sized side).
Thank you for your help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I think they are assuming the photo is from directly above,
and there is no distortion of the lengths
-----------------
I can use proportions:
+3%2F5+=+150%2Fa+
+3a+=+5%2A150+
+3a+=+750+
+a+=+250+ m
-------------------
+3%2F9+=+150%2Fb+
+1%2F3+=+150%2Fb+
+b+=+450+
-------------------
The longest side is 450 m
The middle length is 250 m
----------------------------
check:
+5%2F9+=+250%2F450+
+5%2F9+=+50%2F90+
+5%2F9+=+5%2F9+
OK
