Question 1054136: If the triangles are congruent then X=
I can'get any of the pictures of triangles to post here but I will try to tell you where everything is,
in the first triangle the picture shows the letter x at the bottom of the triangle where the vertical and horizontal meet is a 90 degree angle and the hypotenuse X+3
in the second triangle the picture is flipped upside down the hypotenuse shows 3y and the vertical line Y+1 and a 90 degree angle where the vertical line and horizontal lines meet.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Both are Right Triangles.

The one using x:
One leg is x and hypotenuse is x+3;
Other leg found using Pythagorean Theorem Formula.
This other leg, r.

r%5E2%2Bx%5E2=%28x%2B3%29%5E2
r%5E2=%28x%2B3%29%5E2-x%5E2
r%5E2=x%5E2%2B6x%2B9-x%5E2
r%5E2=6x%2B9
r=sqrt%286x%2B9%29, but r is still unknown.

You can solve for x, but x will be in terms of the other leg, r.
6x%2B9=r%5E2
6x=r%5E2-9
x=r%5E2%2F6-3%2F2
