Given that
f%2Fn=g%2Fm
we can multiply by n to find
f+=+%28g%2An%29%2Fm
Now plug in to get
f = (8.1)(2.5) / 16.25 = 1.246
or, in fractions
f = (8 1/10)(2 1/2) / (16 1/4)
Now 16 1/4 = 65/4 so that
f = (81/10)(5/2)(4/65) = 1620/1300 = 162/130 = 81/65

Hi there,
f/n = g/m
f = (n x g)/m
f = (2 1/2 x 8 1/10)/16 1/4
f = (5/2 x 81/10)/ 65/4
(in bracket cancel 5 and 10
to give you 1 and 2)
f = (1/2 x 81/2)/65/4
f = 81/4 divided by 65/4
f = 81/4 x 4/65
4's cancel out leaving
81/65 = 1 16/65
Hope this helps :-)
