Question 949592: 1.what is the equation for (There is 1 less than three times as many men as women.
I think it is y=3x-1 but I was told this is wrong. Please help.
2. The question is, The sum of two numbers is 15. Twice one number equals 3 times the other. Find both numbers. I know the equations are x+y=15 and xsquared=3y, but I don't know how to solve with the exponent to find the 2 numnbers. Can you help me please. Thank You.
