You can put this solution on YOUR website! All you have to do to solve by substitution is just substitute one thing for the other. Here's an example: First equation: Y= x + 2
 Second equation: 6= x + y
 All, you have to do is plug in the value of "y" from the first equation into the second equation.
 6 = x + (x+2) did you see what I just did there? I just plugged for y. Now, all you have to do is solve.
 6 = x + (x+2)
 6 = 2x + 2
 4 = 2x
 2 = x
 Now try to find out what "y" is.

 Y = 2 + 2
 Y = 4
 The solution to the inequalities is (2,4)
