Well, here is what I know. I hope this helps.
Without graphing, we can know whether 2 lines are parllel and perpendicular.
Parallel lines have the same slopes.
for example, y=2x+4 and 2y-4x=6
if we simply and put these two equations in y=mx+b form, where m is the slope, we can know that 2 is the slope.
These are parallel lines.
The slope of perpendicular lines are opposite of the reciprocal of each other.
For example, y=-1/2x+3 and y=2x+6
The statement above can be expressed in the following equation.
(m1)(m2)=-1
the 2 ms are the slopes.
They multiplied to become -1.
lets check the example.
(-1/2)(2)=-1
