First, notice we can factor out a -2x out of the equation.
-2x%5E3%2B2x%5E2%2B4x+=+-2x%28x%5E2+-x+-2%29+=+0
Now we have x^2-x-2, a quadratic.
Notice that we have two integers that add up to -1 and multiply to -2, namely -2 and 1.
Then we have -2x%28x-2%29%28x%2B1%29 which is our factored form.
