-7x=21-5x-5 Subtract 5 from both sides.


-7x%2B5x=21-5 Add 5x to both sides.


-2x=21-5 Combine like terms on the left side.


-2x=16 Combine like terms on the right side.


x=%2816%29%2F%28-2%29 Divide both sides by -2 to isolate x.


x=-8 Reduce.
