Question 38363: What is the solution to x - 0.15x = 680? how do I do this?
Answer by fractalier(6550) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! From x - 0.15x = 680,
please understand that x really means one whole x, and that .15x is just 15/100 of an x, so if we subtract them we get 85/100 of an x, like this:
.85x = 680
Now we divide both sides by .85 and get
.85x/.85 = 680/.085
x = 800
