You have y = x + z....This does not mean anything without more information.
Your reply was:
y = x + x, x = 2 and z = 7
I guess you want to find the value of all three letters.
This is my guess because your question does not have directions.
If x = 2, then y = 2 + 2 = 4
x = 2, y = 4 and z = 3 as given.
