You can put this solution on YOUR website! simplify the following
y+3x-7+2x-y
6d+7c-4c+6
5f+9+2d-7-f
answers:
1) 5x - 7, variable y there has no more value so its ok if you will not write it. all you have to do is regroup the given then add or subtract the given if they are like terms. Solution: [(3x + 2x)+ (y - y) + (-7)]
2) 3c + 6d + 6, solution: [(7c - 4c)+ 6d + 6 ]
3. 2d + 4f + 2, solution: [ 2d + (5f - f) + (9 - 7)]
always remember that you cannot add/subtract the given if they are unlike terms
Expand the following
3(x+4)
4(2m+3)
answers:
1) 3x + 12
2) 8m + 12
to expand the following, all you have to do is to distribute the number outside the parentheses to each terms within the parentheses.
expand and simplify
3(x+4)+2(x+5)
4(d-1)+5(d+6)
4(w+5)+3(w-1)
answers:
1) 3x + 12 + 2x + 10 (distribute first before you combine like terms)
(3x + 2x) + (12 + 10)
5x + 22
2) 4d - 4 + 5d + 30 (
(4d + 5d) + (-4 + 30)
9d + 26
3)4w + 20 + 3w - 3
(4w + 3w) + (20 - 3)
7w + 17
