You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x=the height of the building
____y=the length of the shadow

IF The length of the shadow of a building is 2 feet more than 2/3 the height of the building...

y=2x%2F3%2B2

Also,

IF it is also 12 feet less than the height...

y=x-12

Since y=2x%2F3%2B2 and y=x-12, Then,

2x%2F3%2B2=x-12
3%282x%2F3%2B2%29=3%28x-12%29
2x%2B6=3x-36
3x-36=2x%2B6
3x-36%2B36=2x%2B6%2B36
3x%2B0=2x%2B42
3x=2x%2B42
3x-2x=2x-2x%2B42
x=0%2B42
x=42
Since x= height of the building...

Therefore, the height of the building is 42 ft.
