Question 930236: OK I have been trying to work this problem with the formulas of SA (surface area) and Volume but i'm not sure which one I'm suppose to use and I'm just wasting led. PLEASE HELP! (This question was answered but I'm still confused, I still don't understand the explanation)
a. If one inch of rain fell over one acre, how many cubic inches of water would that be? How many cubic feet?
b. If one cubic foot of water weighs approximately 62 pounds, what is the weight, in tons, of one inch of rain over one acre of ground?
c. The weight of one gallon of water is about 8.3 pounds. A rainfall of one inch over one acre of ground means about how many gallons of water?
