Waggles is tied to a chain and has a playground of 154 square feet. The neighbor's cat Fluffy is currently 2 1/2 yards from the tie-down post. Should Fluffy be concerned?

Each year a tree adds a new ring to its cross section. Some rings are thicker than others. Why would this be?
Suppose the average ring was .5 cm thick.
Approximately how old is a tree with a circumference of 700 cm?

lateral area = 2 pi r h (r= radius) (h=height) leave answer in terms of pi
total area = lateral area + 2 pi r^2
