Question 995449: Hi, could you help me with this question? Question: The rectangular floor of a school hall of 30m long and 20m wideis to be covered with square tiles with sides of 20cm. If each tile costs RM2.50, how much money is needed to tile the floor?

The floor is also 3000 cm long and 2000 cm wide.
100 of the 20 cm tiles will cover the width.
150 of the 20 cm tiles will cover the length.
15,000 will cover the floor (the product)

Check by area:
a tile has 0.2*0.2=0.04 m^2
The floor area is 600 m^2
600/0.04=15,000
====
The cost is 2.50 per tile.
