Surface of a cube comprises of  6  faces that are squares.
They all have the same side measure and all have the same area.
Hence,  the area of each square is  24%2F6 = 4 cm%5E2.
Therefore,  the side measure of each square is  sqrt%284%29 = 2 cm.

Answer.  The side measure of the given cube is  2  cm.
