Question 913484: The area of one side of a box is 120cm^2. The area of another side of the box is 72cm^2. The area on top of the box is 60cm^2.
Find the length, width and height of the box.
I'm having problems with this Q.
I know that:
W x L = 60
H x L = 120
W x H = 72
But not sure where to go from there.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
W * L = 60
H * L = 120
factors 60 6,10
factors 120 6,2 10
6*10
12*10
common factors
H * L = 120
H * W = 72
common factors
factors 120 12, 10
factors 72 12,6
H = 12, L = 10, W = 6

Hi,
.
Surface = 2Lw(top and bottom) + 2Lh(long sides) + 2wh(short sides)
Lw = 60, L =+60%2Fw
Lh = 120, h = 120/L , h = 120%2F%2860%2Fw%29
wh = 72 , 120w%2F%2860%2Fw%29+=+72, w^2 = 60*72/120 = 36, w = 6cm
w = 6c m, L = 10cm60%2F6, h = 12cm120%2F%2860%2F6%29
