Question 909841: I am retiling my shower and need to know the sq. ft. in order to buy the correct amount of tiles. One wall is 31" by 50", the other wall is also 31" by 50", and the third wall is 68" by 50". I have been out of school many, many years and for the life of me I cannot remember the formula. I would greatly appreciate any help you could give me in this matter. Thank You, Victor. My email address is vjf610@aol.com

Hi,
.
A(in in^2) = 2%2A%2831%2A50%29+%2B+68%2A50
A(in ft^2) = %282%2A%2831%2A50%29+%2B+68%2A50%29%2F9

One wall is 31" by 50"
Area = 31*50 = 1550 sq. in.
----------------------------
, the other wall is also 31" by 50"
Area = 1550 sq. in
----------------------------
, and the third wall is 68" by 50".
Area = 68*50 = 3400 sq in
=================
Total area = 2*1550+3400 = 3100 + 3400 = 6500 sq in
