Question 84982: 1.The ratio of the surface area of two pyramids is 9:49. What is the ratio of the volumes?
2.If the hypotenuse in a 30-60-90 triangle is 18, then the length of the short leg is?
a. 12.73
b. 10.39
c. 36
d. 9 Answer by ganit(6) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! In a 90-60-30 triangle the shortest side will be the side opposite the smallest angle.
The side opposite 30 angle will be the shortest one.
We can use the sine ratio.
now, sin 30 = opp side / hypotaneus
1/2 = opp side / 18
hence opp side = 9
That is the length of the shortest side.
