You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The volume and curved surface area of a cylinder are 1650cm^3 and 660cm^2 respectively.
Find the radius and height of the cylinder.
:
let r = the radius
let h = the height
:
Volume: pi%2Ar%5E2%2Ah = 1650
Curved surface: 2pi%2Ar%2Ah = 660
make both equations = to h
h = 1650%2F%28pi%2Ar%5E2%29
and
h = 660%2F%282pi%2Ar%29 = 330%2F%28pi%2Ar%29
therefore
330%2F%28pi%2Ar%29 = 1650%2F%28pi%2Ar%5E2%29
multiply both sides by pi%2Ar and you have
330 = 1650%2Fr
r = 1650%2F330
r = 5 cm is the radius
:
Find the height
h - 330%2F%28pi%2A5%29
h - 330%2F15.7%29
h = 21.0 cm is the height

Check this by finding the volume with these values
V = pi%2A5%5E2%2A21
V = 1649.33, a slight error from rounding off
