Question 787153: Two cones with same base radius 4 cm and height 8 cm are joined together along their bases. Find the surface area of the shape so formed. Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! To find the slant height
Slant height^2 = height^2 + radius^2
Slant height =
Slant height = 8.9 cm
Surface area of cone = Pi * radius * slant height
Surface area = Pi * 4 cm * 8.9 cm
Surface area = 111.8 cm^2 (1 decimal place)
2 cones base to base =
2 * 111.8 = 223.6 cm^2
Hope this helps.
