Question 721468: I missed a day of school and my teacher gave me this huge packet of math papers and told me I have to have it done by Monday. I do not know how to do them. Can someone please show me. We have a test coming up and I need to know.
Find the value of x in each pair of similar figures.
The problem show a picture of two triangles, one big and one little. On the little one it has a A at the top and it goes down to a B. The base is located at the B. On the outside of the line from A to B it has 3 ft. Then from B to C it states 4 ft. The big triangle looks the same but D is where A was and E is where B was. From D to E it states it is 6 ft. Then from E to F, this is where B to C was, it has a x.
Can someone please help me.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You are describing similar triangles and you have a proportion exercise problem. Assuming the triangles are similar, AB corresponds to DE and BC corresponds to EF. AB%2FDE=BC%2FEF, and length of EF was given as unknown, x.
