You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How much larger is an area of 225cm%5E2 than an area of 144cm%5E2
an area of 225cm%5E2 has a square with side a=15cm
an area of 144cm%5E2 has a square with side a=12cm

if you draw these two squares inside each other (so they have one common corner and two sides overlap each other) you will see the difference in their areas.
Since the difference in sides is 15cm-12cm=3cm, the larger square has 15cm%2A3cmm=45cm%5E2 larger area than smaller square from one side, and 12cm%2A3cmm=36cm%5E2 larger area than smaller square from the other side. So, total difference in area is 45cm%5E2%2B36cm%5E2=81cm%5E2

answer: an area of 225cm%5E2 is 81cm%5E2 larger than an area of 144cm%5E2

OR, the simplest way to get this solution is to subtract 144cm%5E2 from 225cm%5E2
225cm%5E2-144cm%5E2=81cm%5E2
