You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The diagonal of one face of a cube is 5√2 centimeters long.
What is the total area of the cube?
:
let s = side of the cube
Using pythag: a^2 + b^2 = c^2
:
s%5E2+%2B+s%5E2+=+%285sqrt%282%29%29%5E2
2s%5E2+=+25%282%29
Divide both sides by 2
s%5E2+=+25 sq/cm the area of one side of the cube
then
6(25) = 150 sq/cm total of the 6 sides of the cube
