Question 345589: " A cuboid of volume 1125cm^3 has length equal to three times the breadth.
(a) Show that the surface area of the cuboid can be expressed as
6x^2 + (3000/x) "
I am struggling with this one. So far, I have:
A = l x b = x.3x.2 = 6x^2
taking h as height, x.h.2 + 3x.h.2 = 8xh
... not sure where to go from here, help appreciated! Thanks.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x is width
l =3x
.
V = l*w*h
1125+=+3x%2Ax%2Ah or 1125+=+3%2Ax%5E2%2Ah
h=%28+375%2Fx%5E2%29
surface Area is
2l*w + 2w*h + 2l*h
.
substitute for h:
2*(3x^2) + 2*x*(375/x^2) + 2**3x*(375/x^2)
6%2Ax%5E2+%2B+750%2Fx+%2B+2250%2Fx
.
6%2Ax%5E2+%2B+3000%2Fx is the surface Area
