The area of each circle is,
Ac=%28pi%2F4%29D%5E2=%28pi%2F4%29%283%29%5E2=%289%2Api%29%2F4sq.cm.
For 4 circles, the area is then,
A=9%2Api sq.cm.
The remaining scrap is the difference,
Ar=36-9%2Api sq. cm.
