You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Area of cylinder = pi r^2 h
radius = 6 height = 8
area = pi* 6^2*8
area = 904.77 square inches

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The total surface area consists of the lateral (side) area and two end pieces (circles).

Lateral area is actually the distance around the base (circumference) which is 2%2Api%2Ar times the height which is h.
Lateral area = 2%2Api%2Ar%2Ah
Lateral area = 2%2Api%2A6%2A8=96%2Api

Each end piece is a circle whose area is A=pi%2Ar%5E2=36%2Api

The grand total = 96%2Api+%2B+2%2A+36%2Api
Total Area = 96%2Api+%2B+72%2Api=168%2Api
