Question 253469: Find the surface area and the lateral area of a cylinder with a height of 5 m and a radius of 0.75 m. Found 2 solutions by drk, Greenfinch:Answer by drk(1908) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The surface area of a cylinder is:
(i)
or
(ii)
We are given h = 5, r = .75, so,
(iii)
using order of operations, we get
(iv)
(v)
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Lateral SA = 2 x pi x radius x height
so = 2 x pi x 0.75 x 5 sq m
= 7.5 x pi = 23.56 sq m
SA includes the two ends which are = 2 x pi x radius squared
= 0.5625 x pi = 1.76 sq m
so total = 25.33 sq m
