Let's first find the volume in cubic inches then convert the result to cubic feet.
For a rectangular prism:
V = L*W*D Substitute; L = 34", W = 18", and D = 12".
V = (34")*(18")*(12")
V = 7344 cu.in.
Now there are 1728 cu.in. in 1 cu.ft. so you must divide the volume in cu.in (7433) by 1728 cu.in. per cu.ft.
V = 7344/1728
V = 4.25 cu.ft.
