Question 179429: A= 2prh + 2pr(sqaured) this is the formula for the surface area of circular cylinder. i want to know the height. p stands for pie/ the r is squared in the second half of the problem
i got to A-2pr squared = 2prh
when i divided by 2pr i dont understand why you get h= A/2pr - r
wouldn't the 2pr cancel each other out. please help

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A= 2prh + 2pr(sqaured) this is the formula for the surface area of circular cylinder. i want to know the height.
------
2prh = A - 2pr^2
h = [A-2pr^2] / [2pr]

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A= 2prh + 2pr^2
A+=+2%2Api%2Arh+%2B+2%2Api%2Ar%5E2
2%2Api%2Arh+=+A+-+2%2Api%2Ar%5E2
h+=+%28A+-+2%2Api%2Ar%5E2%29%2F%282%2Api%2Ar%29
Nothing cancels.
You can make it:
h+=+A%2F%282pi%2Ar%29+-+r
