Question 1091371: Sketch and graph the equation |x| + |y| = 5. What type of figure is formed? What is its perimeter and area?
I already figured out the shape of the equation: it is a quadrilateral (square).
Is the perimeter 20 units and area 25 square units? I just want to make sure.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

You are right about the graph being a square.

But the vertices of the square are at (5,0), (0,5), (-5,0), and (0,-5). That makes your numbers for the perimeter and area incorrect.

What is the side length of the square? And so then what is its area?
