Here is the question:
The area of the shaded triangle in the figure at the right is 43 square inches. What is the area of the rectangle?

Triangle area is half the rectangle area, and there is a formula that is helpful.

area of triangle is %281%2F2%29b%2Ah, b for base and h for height.

The upper point of the triangle could be any where on the top segment of the rectangle, even forming a right triangle, if the point is an upper corner of the rectangle.
