The volume of a cone is given by
V+=+%281%2F3%29Bh+=+%281%2F3%29%28pi%29r%5E2%2Ah
Plugging in we get
80%28pi%29+=+%281%2F3%29%28pi%29r%5E2%2A5
Now solve for r and then double it to get diameter...so we get
240 = r^2*5
48 = r^2
r = 6.93 inches so that
d = 13.9 inches

Volume of a cone is (1/3)*pi*r^2h
That equals 80 pi
80=(1/3)*r^2 h
240 =r^2h
48=r^2
r=4sqrt(3)
diameter is 8 sqrt(3) inches or 13.86 inches.
