Question 1167302: A six-sided die has been tossed 4 times. How many sequences of these 4 outcomes contain at least one number greater than 4?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since the die has 6 faces, there are (6)(6)(6)(6) = 64 = 1296 possible
sequences.

From these 1296 sequences we must eliminate all sequences which fail. These are
all the ways in which all 4 rolls are 1,2,3, or 4. There are (4)(4)(4)(4) =
44 = 256 sequences which fail.

So 1296-256 = 1040 sequences contain at least one number greater than 4?

Answer = 1040
