Question 874148: Can you arrange 12 small squares to make a larger square? Can you arrange 20 small cubes to make a larger cube? Explain how this relates to perfect squares and perfect cubes. Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Since 12 is NOT a perfect square, it is NOT possible to arrange 12 small squares to make a larger square. You can try it yourself with pieces of paper, but it won't be possible unless you can cut or fold the squares.
Similarly, it is NOT possible to arrange 20 small cubes to make a larger cube because 20 is NOT a perfect cube.
