: Rationalize the denominator: I worked this problem out however I am not sure if I did it right. Can you look at my steps and tell me if I am correct or if i need to make corrections. Please help.
3____
√[6] – √[3]

3 * √6+√3
√6-√3 √6+√3
= 3√6 + 3√3
√36 + √12 - √12 -√6
=3√6 +3√3
6-3
=3√6 +3√3
3

3____
√[6] – √[3]
OK
=[3 * √6+√3]/[(√6-√3) (√6+√3)]....OK BUT PUT BRACKETS AS SHOWN
= 3[√6 + √3]/[√36 + √12 - √12 -√6]....NO
NEED NOT MULTIPLY N.R.
D.R.(DENOMINATOR) IS WRONG
D.R.= SQRT(36)+SQRT(18)-SQRT(18)-SQRT(9)=6-3=3
BUT BETTER USE FORMULA (A+B)(A-B)=A^2-B^2=[SQRT(6]^2-[SQRT(3)]^2=6-3=3
=3[√6+√3]/[6-3] ...PUT BRACKETS
=3[√6+√3]/3
=SRT(6) + SQRT(3) IS THE ANSWWER
YOU DID OK ,BUT BE CAREFULL IN MULTIPLICATION AND PUT BRACKETS
