You can put this solution on YOUR website!
We are solving for "p"
Equation: 4*sqrt(2p) + 1 = 24
;
4*sqrt(2p) = 24 - 1
:
4*sqrt(2p) = 23
Divide both sides by 4
sqrt%282p%29+=+23%2F4
square both sides
2p = %2823%2F4%29%5E2
:
2p = %28529%2F16%29
divide both sides by 2
p = %28529%2F32%29

:
Check this using the decimal equiv in the original equation
529/32 = 16.53 = P
:
4*sqrt(2p) + 1 = 24
4*sqrt(2(16.53)) + 1 = 24
4*sqrt(33.06) + 1 = 24
4*5.75 + 1 = 24
23 + 1 = 24; this checks out, all I can say is I interpreted the problem incorrectly.
