You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sqrt%28y%2B3%29-1=6 Start with the given equation.

sqrt%28y%2B3%29=6%2B1 Add 1 to both sides.

sqrt%28y%2B3%29=7 Combine like terms.

%28sqrt%28y%2B3%29%29%5E2=7%5E2 Square both sides

y%2B3=7%5E2 Square sqrt%28y%2B3%29 to get y%2B3

y%2B3=49 Square 7 to get 49.

y=49-3 Subtract 3 from both sides.

y=46 Combine like terms on the right side.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer:

So the solution is y=46
