The answer in the post by @mananth,  , strictly speaking, is incorrect.
The correct answer is  , using the absolute value |p|.
The expression works correctly only for positive values of ' p '.
For negative values of ' p ' it does not work correctly.
The expression works UNIVERSALLY for positive values and for negative values of ' p '.
Therefore, this form, , is preferable, and even more,
is the   correct form.
