x^2 means
e^(rt) means
but be careful: e^rt means
x^(p^4) means
e^(i*pi) + 1 = 0 means
Likewise, the underscore, "_", made with Shift-(minus) represents subscripts.
x_1 means
a_1x^(n-1) means
