You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Well to find x we need to use things called logs. Logs are basically exponents or powers. For example 3%5E2 2 is a power or exponent.
We need to take the log of both sides of the equation using a base of A.
log(base A) A^x = log(base A) B What this means is we are saying for the left hand side "What power to base A equals A^x". Well this must be of course be x.
So we can simplify the equation to x=log(baseA) B.
Does that make any sense to you?

Hi Pedro,
If A^x = B then we know:
log A^x = log B.
Since log A^x = x*log A we have:
x*log A = log B and
x = log A/log B
