Let sqrt = square root for short
sqrt{200} = two numbers (one of them is a perfect square) that when multiplied together will give you 200.
How about 100 times 2?
You see, 100 is a perfect square because 10 times 10 = 100.
We have sqrt{200} = sqrt{100} times sqrt{2}.
What is the square root of 100?
It is 10, right?
So, this means that the sqrt{100} = 10.
Now, the square root of 2 is already in lowest terms and so, it cannot be reduced anymore.
