My name is Nikki, i am in 7th grade, learning pre-algebra. I need help learning a concept. I don't know how to explain it, here are some of the problems, (im not asking you to do these...)1) 4 more than twice a number 2)The difference of 10 and a number 3) The quotient of a number and 11 ect. if you know what these are would you explain it to me? if not its fine, i understand.
The assignment is due tomorrow 9/9/2011 it would be great if you could get it to me as soon as possible.

Question 495172: I have to create a expression that equals 100 when I use Order Of Operations. I have to use all 10 digits (0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) only once, and they must all be used once. Question 497621: I am getting stuck and can not figure out what i am doing wrong
the problem is (y-4) - (y+7) = 8y
our teacher is teaching us distributing and with this answer i would just use 1
so i got y - 4 -y -7 + 8y
then i combined like terms
the y's cancel out so now i am left with -11+8y
and this is where i get stuck

Question 530055: when solving 3x + 6 = 18, why do you add -6 under the 6 which makes 0 and add -6 under the 18, which makes 12? then it turns out to be 3x = 12, and x = 4. The problem I am having is the signs, why do you use the negative 6?

7 - 8r + 3 = 6r - 12 + r
the lone r on the end, is that 1r and do I add 1r to 6r?
I'm confused what do do with that r thats alone
