I'm not sure I understand your first step where you say "2.2 = 4" and I think that is where you got off track.
%282.2%5E2%29%5E3 is the original problem.

The first step is to square 2.2:
2.2%5E2=2.2%2A2.2=4.84

The second step is to cube this result:

4.84%5E3=4.84%2A4.84%2A4.84=113.3799

You should round your answer to one decimal place, i.e. 113.4, because the most accuracy you had at the start, the number 2.2, was a single decimal place. If the problem had been stated thus:
