Question 91400: I can't seem to figure out the general term of this sequence. Could you help me out?
The sequence is : 1, square root of 3, square root of 5, square root of 7, and square root of 9.
I can tell that each time, you add two to the number, but I don't know how you would say that when using the (n)th term.
I would be very grateful if someone could help me.

Question 93195: The problem given was find E(sigma symbol)x for the following set of numbers: 2,3,5,6,8,9,11. I have read all I can find and can figure out that x=2 would go under the sigma and 11 would go on top but I can't figure out what the formula to the side would be or am I just suppose to add all these numbers up and give the sum?

I do not understand what our teacher is tackling about... maybe he is so fast in discussing of the topics so that we can't relate to him...

arithmetic sequence whose nth term is given...
and for example the given are:
An=9+(n-1)4
An=7+(n-1)(-2)
An=-4+(n-1)3
An=-2+(n-1)(-3)
How can i solve these problems which have different signs..
with a negative & positive sign...
but the problem is that i have no idea on how to solve these problems...
can you help me? so i can understand it better and i can solve our exercises that are from our teacher....
