Question 472552: What is formula for the nth term of the infinite sequence? For these you cannot use a recursion formula. 1, 1/4, 1/9, 1/16, 1/25
A) an = 1/3n-2
B) an = (1/2)n-1
C) an = 1/n^2
D) an = 1/n^n-1
I tried to work it out and i came up with C but i really feel like I messed up. Can someone please try to explain this to me for future reference?

Question 472706: How do I write an equation for a simple number sequence - 1,2,3,4,etc. where each time they get added together. Example would be 1 = 1 total, 2 = 3 total, 3 = 6 total, 4 = 10 total. I want to be able to get the total of any number. Example would be 50 = 1,275
