The sum of any infinite geometric series is given by
S = a1 / (1-r)
where a1 is the first term and r is the common ratio...
Thus in
1 + 1/5 + 1/25 + 1/125 + ...,
1 is our first term and 1/5 is our ratio...thus the sum is
s = 1 / (1-(1/5)) = 1 / (4/5) = 5/4
