By simplifying we have 2x-7 <23
Now let us solve this inequality by adding 7 to both sides
2x <30 and now divide both sides by 2
x<15
For the first number it must be less than or equal to 15.
Example: let us say that the number is 15 then the second number would be 8 and their sum would be 23. It works because 23 is less than or equal to 23.
Try 10 because 10 is less tha 15 and then the second number would be 3 and the sum of the two numbers is 13 which is less than 23.
