Sequence (a) is written incorrectly.
Sequence (b) is unreadable (ambiguous).

The meaning of your question is not clear. What does it mean to "classify" a sequence?
Without spending any time on actually working out the problem, either of these sequences might be arithmetic, or geometric, or exponential, or anything else -- depending on the values of the variables.
So, as posted, the question is nonsense.
